My next solo exhibition will be in February, 2019 at the Athenaeum Music and Arts Library in La Jolla. The opening reception will be Friday February 15… Save the date! (13 month warning so no excuses)

 

Since I began creating my “music box” series in 2006, I have been interested in the concept of making music visual. This 2019 show, titled “Music in the Key of Blue”, will continue my exploration of this concept using musical compositions with the color blue in the titles. Blue is my new favorite color. A major feature will be my visualization of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” composed of 70 6”x6” mixed media paintings. Other works will include intaglio prints, collage, monoprints, drawings and artists’ books.

 

This will be my third major exhibition at the Athenaeum since “Codes” in 2007 and “The Kincade Chronicles” in 2013. See gallery tab for a look at those shows.
